Strong ocean currents on the Pacific side of the beach makes swimming inadvisable. Lifeguards are not on duty at Lover's Beach.

El Médano Beach.

The main beach of Cabo San Lucas is El Médano Beach. Fronting Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos, El Médano Beach bustles with activity day and night. Typically calm waters make El Médano one of the safest swimming beaches in Cabo San Lucas. Vendors selling souvenirs and snacks walk the beach tempting visitors to barter for goods. El Médano Beach also features water sports rental equipment, restaurants and bars, and miles of beach for long walks or jogging.

Santa Maria Beach - Playa Santa Maria.

Tucked amid a quiet bay near San Jose del Cabo, Santa Maria Beach is wonderful departure from the bustling activity of Cabo San Lucas tourist beaches. Santa Maria Beach is best known for snorkeling. The waters here are part of a protected marine sanctuary. Santa Maria is also popular among scuba divers as a calm entry point into the Sea of Cortez.
